Thanks to a successful bond election in 2016, the Cherry Creek School District will be building 2 new schools. These schools are scheduled to be open for the 2018 - 2019 school year.

A new elementary school, ( currently known as elementary school # 44 ) will be constructed on a parcel of land on the north side of Smoky Hill Road near Blackstone Country Club in the south east section of the school district. The design is nearing completion and construction bids are scheduled for May 2017.

A new middle school ( currently known as middle school #11 ) will be constructed on a large parcel of land east of  the Tollgate Crossing Community which is east of E-470 and south of Quincy.   Bassett Construction has been awarded the bid to build the school and the design is completed.

Both schools are scheduled for completion in time for the 2018-2019 school year.  The schools will relieve over crowding conditions in Pine Ridge Elementary and Fox Ridge Middle Schools while allowing for continued population growth in the fast growing Southlands' area of Aurora, Colorado.
